WELCOME..................TO

In the gambling game of so-called (SC) horse racing, irrespective of however suspicious or criminally inclined certain conduct may appear, the Unwritten Code of Integrity rears its ugly head, its predictability exceeded only by its lack of sophistication:  SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL, and above all...SPEAK NO EVIL - commonly referred to as the Three Evils.  Privately, however, when run-slow-run-fast trainers and jockeys come together, a different tune is heard:  "Let them prove it...if they can."  After all, what have they to fear?  In addition to the refuge provided by an endless litany of well-rehearsed, market-tested excuses, the full weight of the industry's Propaganda Machine rallies to their defense.  Taken on the whole, conduct of this nature has resulted in the loss of countless gambling fans - never to return.

By now you've undoubtedly concluded that neither is this site sponsored by the SC horse racing industry, nor in any way associated with its gaggle of Agents at Large, individuals who openly profess to be objective critics but who are little more than Hired Guns.

Someone had to step forward and address a gambling game that is literally "out of control."  It was only a matter of time.

And there remains little doubt that many gambling fans - the growing number of individuals who share feelings of having been "sent home early" by some esteemed member of the run-slow-run-fast gang - have considered a similar idea, at the very least wishing to have a public forum in which to voice their anger and frustration.  Even the game's High Priests of Propaganda, parrot-face clones who rely almost entirely on the gullibility of their audience, have viewed just such a possibility as a veritable time bomb.

What exists today is an unsophisticated gambling game where MANUFACTURED LONGSHOTS have become common place, where unrealistic conditions for classifying horses - together with unenforceable rules and made-to-order regulations - combine to create an environment in which the Lack of Legitimate Verification places gambling fans at a tremendous disadvantage,  where cruelty to horses is rarely given a second thought.

Almost all of today's trainer/jockey/horse gamblers fail to realize there exists but two types of longshots: legitimate and manufactured. And if it's manufactured, it's fraudlent. It's just that simple.

The word longshot is the greatest cover word in every crook's arsenal, providing cover for just about any kind of crime.

If a chronic criminal were to live for a thousand years, a more "PERFECT RECIPIE FOR FRAUD" he would never find.

Stable gambling, a form of activity where trainers and their cohorts - having access to inside information - are allowed to participate in public gambling pools, has fueled the corruption to new levels, resulting in a criminal enterprise with few equals.

Thanks to a large number of powerful stimulants and depressants, tranquilizers, numerous hormones and anabolic steroids, to include a wide range of painkilling drugs, a horse can easily be manipulated TO RUN SLOW OR RUN FAST, appear sound when actually lame - to perform in just about any way desired by its handlers.

Jack Van Berg, hall of fame trainer who trained the brilliant Alysheba, quickly cut to the heart of matters when recently testifying before congressional authorities: "It's chemical warfare."

The federal government now threatens to come down hard on cheaters. We can only hope that the financial damage done to gambling fans who have been cheated will be highlighted during pending congressional hearings.

If you stumbled across Getting Down hoping to find the standard menu of "bells and whistles and superfluous graphics," get away from this site immediately, as others - people who are more interested in substance than smoke - are waiting to touch down.

Be forewarned that any and all comments made herein are merely the absurd opinions of hopelessly deficient dummies who know nothing about horses, know even less about the racing of horses, for only a fool would attempt, however remotely, to find fault with the inimitable integrity of the SC sport of kings, or attempt to find fault with the honorable men and women employed therein - righteous and splendidly noble as they truly are, each and every one, standing proudly for all that is grand and decent.

Getting Down will leave final judgment to the most powerful and preeminent judge of all - common sense.

NOTE:  Getting Down was designed to provide uncluttered, intuitive navigation. By clicking the titles located in the green menu panel - which is present at all times - you can view the corresponding text in the content panel on the right, and move freely between the material offered.   A "HOME" page return link, located at the bottom of the menu panel, has been installed. We've also added a few graphics - but nothing fancy. Though Getting Down has strongly resisted adding hot e-mail links, personal preference has bowed to public demand. We just naturally assumed if you were too lazy to punch a few keys, most likely you didn't have anything to say. Page numbers provided in the material are for visual orientation only.
